Stew, in 2005, I had a flock of white pelicans pass overhead while I was at Busch Stadium watching the Cardinals play the Dodgers. They were following the Mississippi River south.
Last year I saw White Pelicans flying low over the Wabash River at West Lafayette heading north. My friends said I was delusional, but I know one when I see one. I’ve seen huge flocks spending the winter on Bird Island just west of Gasparilla Island.
